The Wake County Animal Center is the community animal shelter operated by Wake County Government that receives all lost, stray, abandoned and surrendered animals from the community. We work in partnership with fosters, volunteers, and local rescues, to treat and rehome thousands of homeless animals every year.
Won't you help us to increase the amount of animals that we can save? Please consider joining one of our programs and help these animals find their forever homes.

American Wildlife Refuge American Wildlife Refuge mission is to make a place for injured birds of prey and to educate the public about the nature of raptors.  Composed of all volunteers, they provide the necessary care to rehabilitate injured raptors and release them back into the wild, and giving permanent refuge to birds that cannot be released,
The refuge is hosting a booth again this year to provide information about birds of prey.  They will bring some of the live birds currently at the refuge, including Owls and more. Animal Rescue (IAR) rescues and provides safe and responsible care for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals. They strive to help all animals in need through their service programs. They serve our communities through promotion of spay or neuter for all companion animals, and the education of children and adults in the humane care, respect and responsibility for animals on this earth.
